Monte is correct. The item page itself is the most accurate count; all other counts are cached and not in real time. Even the item page can be inaccurate because sometimes it's not caught up to what the real numbers are, but all downloads are logged and will be displayed properly eventually. Think of the numbers as a relative nicety rather than an up-to-date, accurate count.
